Join us this Friday, August 30th from 5-7 pm for a retrospective of Cathie Sullivan's works. Since coming to Santa Fe in 1966, Cathie Sullivan has painted in oils and been a silk screen printer. For 29 years she owned Tewa Enterprises and specialized in hand-printing the work of Pueblo and Navajo artists. The exhibit is opening at El Museo on Friday August the 30th and continuing through September will include 57 oils, prints and drawings, as well as notecards, and 20 hand carved figures of animals. Subjects include New Mexican scenes, imagined scenes and events, protest pieces (for instance about nuclear weapons) and a few abstract paintings. Show prices range from less than $100.00 to several hundred for limited edition prints up to several thousand for major oil paintings. Please note that 80% of all proceeds will be contributed to three local non-profit organizations: Amigos del Parque, Nuclear Watch New Mexico and El Museo Cultural de Santa fe. Cathie will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during museum hours and also by appointment to see the show on Museum's open hours Wednesdays and Thursdays. Wednesday and Thursday appointments can be made by calling (505) 982 7144 or by email <[email protected]> .
